Something different: Cat Cafe

Today I had a great first experience in going to a cat cafe called Catpawcino.

It was fab and I definitely recommend it as something different to do. Cat cafes are becoming more popular in the UK now. I’m sure there’ll be one near you!

A cat cafe is like any other cafe apart from the fact there are resident cats there. It was very hygienic, with food being prepared in a cat free zone and they had hand sanitiser before entry.

The difference that I felt with this cafe than any other was that it was very community orientated. Having cats there to play with and interact with made the people who were visiting interact more with each other aswell which gave it a friendly and relaxed vibe.

I was also glad to see that the cats welfare was very highly thought of, with a room that they could go to if they wanted quiet time, lots of things to play with and climb up and a set of rules for customers to make sure that they were treat properly.

It’s a great way for cat lovers and also people who don’t have an animal at home to go and spend some time doing something different.

I’ll definitely be going back!

Here are a couple of the lovely cats that I saw today.

For movie lovers

I recently found a great site that gives you access to over 1000 movies including new releases and 16 premieres a month so I thought I’d share it on here.

I had a Netflix account for years, but I found recently that I’ve seen too many of the films that they have on there and wanted to watch some different ones without waiting a while for something good to be added to the list.

I came across an offer for a 14 day free trial for NOW TV so I signed up and it’s fab! It’s the same idea as Netflix without the TV series (you can get a separate entertainment pack if that’s more your thing). After the free trial it’s £9.99 a month, which I don’t feel is a bad price for that many good films and you can try before you commit and cancel any time.

It can be used on lots of different devices too.

Here is the link to the website if you’d like to start your free trial and see for yourself NOW TV free trial

I am in no way affiliated with NOW tv or anyone I’ve spoken about. I just love films and wanted to let others know about their offer. x

UK staycation ideas

Looking for some ideas for holidays at home? I’ve gathered a few deals and offers that are available at the moment and thought I’d share them on here incase anyone is looking for inspiration.

You could even extend your stay and find a local travelodge where your pooch may be allowed to stay with you! If booked in advance rooms can be found for as little as £29!

There’s tons to see and do for all the family in the area, and check out local pubs for dog friendly places to eat, such as Wyndham hotel. Fun for all the family!

Eating out for less!

If you love to eat out but just don’t feel like you can sometimes because you have to watch the purse strings, all it takes is some creative thinking. You can have a meal for less with your friends or loved one, you just have to know where to look for the best prices.

First of all, if your favourite restaurant has a points card then I’d definitely recommend signing up. This means that every time you eat there, points are added to your account which could earn you a free side, starter or even main course and if you’re on the mailing list or Facebook page of local businesses then you’ll get their offers straight to your news feed. I have a Nandos card, KFC points card and a Taste card. The Taste card is a scheme that involves nationwide (UK) restaurants offering 2-4-1 and 50% off meals, so you only have to pay for one meal and this makes eating out much more affordable for everyone.

If you haven’t already, then I’d also recommend signing up to WowcherGroupon and Living Social . These are all sites that offer discounted vouchers to use in restaurants, on days out, holidays, health, beauty, fitness and so much more!

So it really isn’t impossible to live the life you want for less, if you can save money on petrol by visiting local places then you can put that money to good use elsewhere and it’s all helping to build up your local economy. Local pubs have meal deals where you can have your dinner and a drink for as little as £4.99 per person and it’s good, quality food so do your research and shop around and you’ll be amazed at what you can afford.

Valentine’s Day

 quote.jpg

I’ve been looking for new ideas for what to do with my husband for Valentine’s Day that’s both affordable and romantic. We would like to have a nice day together just enjoying being together, but don’t want to get sucked into the whole Valentine’s ideal.

I was browsing on Pinterest for inspiration and came across some fab ideas, including a Sandwich basket lunch, which would make a lovely picnic for two.

We thought it’d be nice to go to a craft market in an old, historic town and find each other a unique gift for £5. That way it’s affordable, we’re helping local businesses, getting something personal and it saves buying each other things that we don’t need.

While we’re there we’re going to stop off at a nice local café for some cake and coffee by the river with our little dog. A lot of places nowadays allow your pets to go to cafes with you, it’s worth checking out a list of dog friendly cafes/pubs/venues online.

Then we’ll finish off our nice, personal day by having a movie date night in our home with a candlelit three course meal consisting of;

Prawn Salad to start

Baked garlic parmesan potato wedges and Mozzarella, tomato and green pesto chicken with salad for the main course

Valentine’s dessert

With a nice hot chocolate in front of our log fire to finish!

Whoever said that love had to be extravagant?
