Giving blood is a selfless act that so many people do on a regular basis without really knowing the true impact that they have on people’s lives every day.
Personally, I’m on the other side of the spectrum and have received blood transfusions many times over my lifetime due to internal bleeding and iron deficient anaemia caused by an autoimmune disease called ‘Crohns Disease’. I will never know the people who donated the blood that I needed, but they do so without much thought as to where it ends up.
Giving blood saves the lives of so many; women who have difficult births and lose blood, people with cancer and those who have been in horrific accidents to name but a few.
I would love to donate myself but as I’ve received transfusions before I’m unable to. I’ve seen appeals all over the place this week from the NHS for new blood donors so please think about it if it’s something you’d like to do.
I’m in no way connected to the nhs or any other establishment, I just know how precious blood donation can be to the lives of those who need it.
Hope you have a lovely day x
I came across some fab fitness videos on YouTube by Rebecca Louise.
She has videos for targeting specific areas of your body and they are very easy to follow. There’s a great range of excellent work outs that you can do at home to your own fitness level, if you can’t get to a gym.
I love her Victoria’s Secret work outs and her 7 best ab moves.
Check them out Here (abs) and Here (Victoria’s secret bum work out)
There are tons of other videos so go check them out on her YouTube channel!
*I’m in no way affiliated with Rebecca Louise or her channel, I just love the exercise videos so thought I’d share*
Life tests us.
There are times when we are filled with anxiety, hopelessness, fear, and all of the things that people don’t like to open up about because it’s not a happy subject and as sad as it is, you feel that people don’t want to know sometimes.
The truth is, is that all of those things are part of us as humans; as well as happiness, joy and faith. It’s easy to say, “Oh, just look on the bright side and life will change” and this, to a certain extent can be true- life is better when you have a happy mind set; but it’s not so easy to snap into a good frame of mind. That takes work, commitment to yourself and going easy on yourself also.
You can have a happy mind and a happy life by slowly changing your thought processes, learning to find your own way of dealing with sadness and being ok with yourself on the days that you feel less than able to do so. You’ll get less of those days and you’ll gradually find that you start to feel happier inside, instead of having to act happy on the outside.
We go through these stormy parts of our lives to clear out the unnecessary and unwanted clutter in our minds so that we can see clearly at the other side. Any situation that we find ourselves in which creates turmoil in our existence will always end with smooth, calm waters and we would’ve learned a lot more about ourselves by the process.
Allow yourself to be free, to be happy and don’t be too hard on yourself when you’re not. You are doing the best you can and you’re doing well. So keep up the good work! x
It is our difficulties that teach us the most about ourselves and about life.
Have you ever noticed that after a challenge or a hard time in your life you find yourself coming out of it with more knowledge and more understanding? It may have even changed a part of you- but it’s usually for the better.
When you’re not quite settled and feel as though everything is just a bit too tough to handle, look at how far you’ve come; how much it’s taught you and also realise that you are never alone in those feelings. Everyone has some form of battle at some point in their lives; whether it’s with themselves, something they need to overcome or something that they feel is out of their control. Life has a way of testing you, seeing what you can handle and I like to call these times ‘lessons’.
You cannot grow as a person without lessons, you may fail and need to re-take them or look at what you could do better next time. You’re never a failure; you’re just learning- like the rest of us.
No one was born a genius and even the most accomplished person still feels insecure and like they could do better. This is because we never stop learning, never stop improving and life constantly changes and challenges us.
The thing that you have to remember is that for every challenge you’ve faced so far, you’ve came out a winner; whether or not you achieved your goal because I have no doubt that you learned something about yourself. This is what moulds us into the best person we can be; our difficulties, our triumphs, our mistakes and every moment in life.
Love what you’ve learned so far and know that whatever lies ahead is just another lesson, and you will grow from it.
Never be afraid to learn.x
Whatever your journey is in life; one thing that we all have in common is our search for happiness.
What makes you happy? Is it something that you have already, something that you want, or something that you believe will make everything perfect- if only..?
The truth is, you will never find true happiness from anything material. You’ll always want something different or be waiting for the day when something happens that will give you everything you need. We make ourselves miserable always searching beyond ourselves and never feeling quite satisfied with life.
It’s great to want more out of life, it’s great to strive for things and have dreams and achieve those dreams. The point that I’m trying to make is that true happiness will always come from the inside.
Knowing that where you are in life right now has its own purpose and its own blessings and there’s never a truly “right time” for anything.
We make our own joy, and our lives are blessed by the people and things in it, if we take the time to notice.
If you’re not happy with how things are, look inside yourself. The answers to any questions that you seek will always be in your heart.
You might find that the more you look at the present, the less anxious you’ll feel about the future and you’ll be able to take it step by step in a calm and happy way.
Have you ever noticed that some things in life that you’re told, or that you experience that seem so insignificant at the time, can stay with you forever?
This can be a moment, a word or sentence, an experience or something inspirational that you hold on to and store somewhere in your mind. It can even take on new meaning.
Years ago in college, I was in a Music lesson with a very cool Jazz sax player who was my most inspirational lecturer and taught us all a lot. During the lesson he said something that I’ve never forgotten, and I think it also applies to life. He said, “If you make a mistake in your playing then make sure you mean it”. I loved this.
If you make mistakes in anything then make sure to make the most out of it and make your next “note” mean something. You can always create something amazing if your heart is in it, and sometimes it’s the imperfections that give it character and soul.
So in life, and in anything that you do- try to remember that perfection isn’t always best; because who can define perfect anyway?
Have a great day x

I came across this quote on Pinterest today and loved it, so thought I’d share it on here.
Find what makes you happy, and what you feel passionate about and put your heart and soul into it. It’ll bring you so much joy and will also bring joy to others who get to share what you create.
A fulfilled life is a happy life, so do whatever makes you feel uplifted. Whether its a once a day thing or a life change, the choice is yours to make.

There is always something to be thankful for in your day or in your life, no matter how tough things feel.
Having gratitude for the blessings in your life will bring you happiness and positivity. I find that the more that I find in life to be thankful for, the happier I feel and I start to focus on the positive.
Sometimes it feels hard to do this. If you’re having a difficult time and life is getting you down, just start small. Every time you find yourself feeling down, think of one thing that makes you smile.
One thought will soon turn into a good day. X
