We’ve all wondered what those little flaps are for on baby bodysuits.
(Image from Pinterest)
Well they’re not just for show! They’re actually very useful when you need to undress your baby when their nappy has leaked.
You know the scene, you’re trying to remove their clothing in the most awkward way but end up spreading the mess everywhere instead. That is about to change..
Using the flaps on the arms roll the bodysuit over baby’s arms and down her body, thus creating minimum mess and less washing for the parents. Simple!
Giving blood is a selfless act that so many people do on a regular basis without really knowing the true impact that they have on people’s lives every day.
Personally, I’m on the other side of the spectrum and have received blood transfusions many times over my lifetime due to internal bleeding and iron deficient anaemia caused by an autoimmune disease called ‘Crohns Disease’. I will never know the people who donated the blood that I needed, but they do so without much thought as to where it ends up.
Giving blood saves the lives of so many; women who have difficult births and lose blood, people with cancer and those who have been in horrific accidents to name but a few.
I would love to donate myself but as I’ve received transfusions before I’m unable to. I’ve seen appeals all over the place this week from the NHS for new blood donors so please think about it if it’s something you’d like to do.
I’m in no way connected to the nhs or any other establishment, I just know how precious blood donation can be to the lives of those who need it.
Hope you have a lovely day x
This is not my usual post but I came across this story on social media and felt compelled to share it. I know that a lot of people all over the world read articles on WordPress so it may help track her birth mother down.

I think anyone deserves to find out their own history and know where they came from, and there are a lot of people in similar situations. I hope she finds her soon.
When we think of what we want out of life; love seems to be one of the main things that comes up for most people.
We’ve all been there, wishing you had that perfect relationship with your dream guy/girl.
One thing that I’ve learned from finding what I would call ‘the one’ is that there is no such thing as perfect. Real love is finding someone that you don’t ever want to give up on, that you’d do anything for and someone you can grow with and struggle with, who feels the same for you. Real love is having hard times, learning everything there is to know about each other and feeling comfortable to be yourself.
A relationship is only as good as the effort you put into it, and keep putting into it, long past the honeymoon phase.
I once read a post that was from a happily married older man who was asked how he kept the love alive. His answer was simple and he said, ‘I come from a generation where if things are broken, we fix them. Rather than throwing them away’. This applies to disagreements that can be resolved with a little patience, love and communication.
If you’re still waiting to meet your partner and are feeling lonely; don’t worry. It’s worth waiting for someone who will make you happy, and when you do; it’ll feel like you’ve never waited at all.
After a lovely holiday on the canarian island of Tenerife, I fell in love with the traditional food that they offered. On arriving home, I wanted to recreate the tastes of the Canary Islands so I found out how to make some of their specialities. One of those flavoursome foods were canarian potatoes which turned out to be quite simple to make.
Boil new potatoes in very salty water for 15 mins (skin on), then drain most of the water leaving a little bit in the bottom of the pan. Wait for the water to dry up completely, which will allow all of the sea salt to flavour the potatoes.
The mojo sauce that I tried in Tenerife was amazing with chicken. Here is the recipe Mojo sauce recipe HERE
I hope you enjoy a taste of the Canary Islands!
I became an auntie this week to a beautiful little boy. What I wasn’t expecting were the roller coaster of emotions I’d feel when he arrived.
I was overjoyed, worried, proud of the new parents for being amazing, proud of my sibling, emotional that I could see such a resemblance between him and my brother. I felt obsessed with seeing pictures of his cute little face and talking about him.
It got me thinking of how amazing life really is; how a fully formed baby can grow in 9 months and change the lives of so many people around him.
Life is a miracle really, it has it’s ups and downs for everyone but new life shows us that there are truly great things in this world. The great moments are the ones that we will all remember most. x
A fantastic, and easy way to make a pizza without the need for perfecting the dough is to use a naan bread as your base. I’ve shared a recipe for a naan pizza before, but this topping was too good not to share!
You will need :
Tandoori spice powder
Grab a bowl, then dice the chicken, add 2 tbs tandoori powder plus 1tbs water and mix together until fully covered. Brown the chicken off in a frying pan for a couple of minutes.
On a seperate baking tray place your naan bread and add tomato puree to one side until covered, top with sliced yellow pepper, sliced mushrooms and add the chicken. Finish it off with grated cheese and bake in a preheated oven for 15 mins at 200c.
I hope you enjoy ! x

I’m a firm believer that memories are the most precious things to gain in life. You will never have everything you want, but you’ll always have loved ones and precious moments which are the best kinds of treasure.
My wish for you today is to live a meaningful life, full of those moments. X

You have the power to change someone’s life through one small act of kindness.
Something that may seem like nothing to you could mean the world to someone else.
Give a little joy to the world x
