Life tests us.

There are times when we are filled with anxiety, hopelessness, fear, and all of the things that people don’t like to open up about because it’s not a happy subject and as sad as it is, you feel that people don’t want to know sometimes.

The truth is, is that all of those things are part of us as humans; as well as happiness, joy and faith. It’s easy to say, “Oh, just look on the bright side and life will change” and this, to a certain extent can be true- life is better when you have a happy mind set; but it’s not so easy to snap into a good frame of mind. That takes work, commitment to yourself and going easy on yourself also.

You can have a happy mind and a happy life by slowly changing your thought processes, learning to find your own way of dealing with sadness and being ok with yourself on the days that you feel less than able to do so. You’ll get less of those days and you’ll gradually find that you start to feel happier inside, instead of having to act happy on the outside.

We go through these stormy parts of our lives to clear out the unnecessary and unwanted clutter in our minds so that we can see clearly at the other side. Any situation that we find ourselves in which creates turmoil in our existence will always end with smooth, calm waters and we would’ve learned a lot more about ourselves by the process.

Allow yourself to be free, to be happy and don’t be too hard on yourself when you’re not. You are doing the best you can and you’re doing well. So keep up the good work! x

There is always something to be thankful for in your day or in your life, no matter how tough things feel. 

Having gratitude for the blessings in your life will bring you happiness and positivity. I find that the more that I find in life to be thankful for, the happier I feel and I start to focus on the positive. 

Sometimes it feels hard to do this. If you’re having a difficult time and life is getting you down, just start small. Every time you find yourself feeling down, think of one thing that makes you smile. 

One thought will soon turn into a good day. X

Clear your mind

Take time out of your day to do something that makes you happy and calm, whether it’s listening to some music, meditating, reading a book or just switching off from everything. Sometimes just unplugging the phone, turning off your computer and being technology free, even for a short while- gives you the space to really be in the moment. You’ll find that taking away distractions will not only improve your mood, your relationships but also your mind set.

I think that it’s easy to get wrapped up in worries, stresses and everything around us that we forget to enjoy what’s happening right now. This is the life that we’re creating; memories that we’ll look back on and moments that we won’t ever get back.

Allow yourself to just be, with a clear mind- no guilt, no stress, no worries. See what a positive effect it has on your day. x

I love this quote.

Whenever you feel like you’re having a bad day, bad week or bad life- try to find joy and love in any situation. There is so much to be thankful for and the more that you look for beauty in simple things, the more blessed your life will feel.

Allow positivity into your life by changing thought patterns, doing new things, being with those you love and most importantly, being thankful for the good things in your life.

It is not the situation that defines you, but how you choose to view it can change how it makes you feel. It’s ok to feel down, we’re all human and it’s a part of life and in these moments we need to rest and recuperate and calm our minds.
